Monuments in Paris
Awe, ego and wonder drew the curtain in worlds theatre hall,
Awe, ego and wonder gave a wild clap in applause,
History recorded it and created tradition,
Man interpreted it in his individual acceptance of heritage.
The representative road of Paris to the world,
With coiffured trees,
Avenue lined with colourful Cafes,
Leading to Arc de Triomphe
Tourist, visitors, those who want to say,
I have seen Paris,
When they go back,
Stroll and laze momentarily,
At the restaurants,
Imagining an illusionary status.
Whiff of passing perfume,
Strong black Coffee,
Occasional smell of liquor,
Reminds of some nature of this city,
That has remained unchanged
in spite of changing values.
Of dreams set in crystal, gold and blue,
Shining in many reflections,
Twinkling lights in blue black stretch,
Streaks of light shivering on Seine,
Cobble stones streaked with blood in history,
Names that tell stories,
Victor Hugo, Paul Gauguin, many more-
A city of many glitters,
With darkness intersecting each speck of glitter.
